The fourth Leeds International Beer Festival is nearly upon us. From Thursday 3rd to Sunday 6th September, Leeds plays host to some of the best breweries from around the world. And yet again, we’re getting stuck right in.
We’re even kicking it off a day early, because we’re nice like that. On Wednesday 2nd September, it’s the Fourpure Tap Takeover at North Bar, with the launch of their special collaboration be with Ska Brewing.
Then we’re there for every session, Thursday through to Sunday, in several different forms…
There’s the return of the glorious Atomium. Deep in the Victorian Cells under the Town Hall, you’ll find our beer bunker, stuffed full of Belgian beer.
We’ve got bottles of Orval and Duchesse de Bourgogne, and La Chouffe on draft. And if that wasn’t special enough, we’ll also have a range of Jenevers – Dutch sipping gins – to refresh the palette after a day of necking back all that beer.
Atomium is accessible from the front of the Town Hall, from a spiral staircase above between the main foyer and the American room, and through the network of rooms and corridors underneath the building.
In that network is another North Bar surprise: a beer cocktail bar serving an expert range of delicious mixes. We’re not talking about Black and Tans, this is proper nice stuff. Fancy a lambic fizz? Yeah? Try them all here before they officially launch in North Bar soon.
And of course, no North Bar cocktail bar would be complete without our famous Bloody Marys. Especially good for the Sunday, when perhaps you’re feeling a little worse for wear…
Then there will also be the welcome appearance of North Brew Co. Keep those peepers peeled for our mysterious North Brew Co shipping container outside the front of the Town Hall. Follow the Twitter and Facebook for more breaking revelations.
Is that enough North for you? No?
Well, you’ll be pleased to hear that on Saturday night, the official LIBF afterparty comes to North Bar, carrying on the beer love and mayhem until 4am.
It’s going to be absolutely smashing. If you’ve not already got your tickets, buy them here, and visit the LIBF website for more information about all of the beautiful brews to be had over the festival.
