HARROGATE FILM FESTIVAL @ NORTH BAR HARROGATE

Harrogate Film Festival 2020 is coming to North Bar Harrogate!
We’ll be showing two films in the comfort of our beautiful upstairs function room.

AMERICAN PSYCHO – SATURDAY 7TH MARCH – 3PM
Based on Bret Easton Ellis’s 1991 satirical horror novel about 1980’s New York banking culture, the film’s stand-out feature is the performance by Christian Bale who plays a narcissistic psychopathic investment banker- Patrick Bateman.
Directed by Mary Harron, the film follows Bateman as he slowly loses all purchase on reality, while the body-count correspondingly increases.

THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT – SATURDAY 14TH MARCH – 3PM
When Lars von Trier’s film premiered at Cannes in 2018, about 100 people walked out in protest. Those that remained stood and gave von Trier a standing ovation at the end.
Make up your own mind about this dark psychological horror. The story, set in the US in the 1970’s and 80’s, follows Jack (Matt Dillon) in his quest to build a house like no other. The film features a brief but unforgettable appearance by Uma Thurman.
