Skål. Vær så god | The Lervig Tap/ Norse Plate Takeover

We are absolutely thrilled to bring you an evening of a remarkable collaboration. North Bar and Cave Direct present Norway’s Lervig Aktiebryggeri, and Norse of Harrogate, in a Scandinavian beer and food experience.

Lervig represent the very best in local, regional brewing, hailing from the Norwegian city of Stavanger. With past collaborations from the likes of Magic Rock and Nøgne Ø, Lervig have grown to become one of the best and most acclaimed breweries coming out of Scandinavia.

Norse are well on their way to becoming a household name, operating from  Baltzersen’s cafe in Harrogate. Norse offers uniquely Nordic-influenced food in a relaxed atmosphere, and has been voted one of the best 100 restaurants in the country.


On Monday 5th October, the taps at North Bar will be full of Lervig’s range, while Norse wow us with a mixture of sweet and savoury small-plate snacks. Fans of Norse will know that the presentation of their dishes is a wonder to behold, but as they get stuck in at North Bar, it will be all about flavour and introducing us to the delights of Scandinavian cuisine.

The six beers will be paired with six plates, and a set price will to get the whole package. You can buy each specific beer-plate pairing. Then there’s also the option to buy everything separately if you’re hungry and not thirsty (or vice versa). The choice is yours!

Get to North Bar for 6pm to try Scandinavian beer and dining at it’s finest.


Each plate will cost £3.50 on its own, with the price of each pairing noted below. All six pairings for £33.

Lucky Jack.
Paired with: Torched mackerel, gooseberry chutney and soused fennel. £5.60

Farmhouse IPA.
Paired with: Pig cheek cooked in IPA, celeriac puree and puffed vinegar rice.£5.90

Sawa Zuzu.
Paired with: Poached salmon in yuzu, salted fingers, puffed skin and salsify puree. £5.50

Brewers Reserve Oat IPA.
Paired with: Smoked and cured venison, brown butter mayo on crispy rye bread. £6.00

Paired with: Wild damson and cinnamon compote, almond crumble and rum spiced duck-egg custard. £6.50

Pop That Cherry (Collab with Mikkeller and Lindheim).
Paired with: Coffee cake and chocolate pudding with pumpkin puree, ginger crumble and toasted buckwheat ice cream. £6.40
